What is Chiropractic Biophysics or CBP?

Chiropractic BioPhysics is a highly-advanced, scientific, and proven chiropractic technique which corrects and restores your spine back to alignment.

Chiropractic BioPhysics combines biology, physiology, physics, geometry, and anatomy to identify the causes of your pain, discomfort, loss of mobility, and altered health. That means your diagnosis – and treatment – will be based on sound scientific and chiropractic principles.

How can CBP doctors help you?

CBP chiropractors start with a scientifically-based examination of your posture, spinal alignment, and function – often involving x-rays as a way to pinpoint the root cause of your spinal misalignment. Once the source is identified, we will create a carefully-planned series of adjustments, exercises, and a spinal remodeling programs to put you on a pain-free road to better health.

How is CBP different from other techniques?

Unlike regular chiropractic that mainly focus on immediate pain relief, Chiropractic BioPhysics goes one step further to also correct the source of the problem. That’s why most patients not only report relief from pain and discomfort, but as their posture begins to align, they notice other conditions clearing up as well.

Correct your posture & live a healthier life.

Spinal Misalignment

Correct posture is at the core of the Chiropractic BioPhysics method of treatment. The curves in your spine act as levers, shock absorbers, and resistance to gravity; they also protect and reduce forces acting on the spinal cord and nerve tissues. But, gravity, age, poor posture, improper physical activity, injury, and disease can all play a role in the misalignment of your spinal curves and, as a result, your entire body.

CBP can help restore that balance.

Following a scientific analysis of your posture and the curvature of your spine, a treatment plan is developed, based on your deficits, to restore proper alignment, relieve pain, and improve function.

Your treatment plan may include a variety of tested and proven CBP techniques, including adjustment, exercise, and traction or what is termed ‘Spinal Remodeling’

Restore your health.

Your spine houses your nervous system – the most delicate and important organ system – responsible for your day to day bodily functions. From your immune, cardiovascular, and digestive system, to sexual function and mobility – your nerves are responsible for sending vital information and energy from the brain to your organs through your spine. Just as a kink in a garden hose can dramatically reduce the flow of water coming from the tap – a spine out of alignment dramatically reduces vital information going from your brain to vital organs.

Thus, your organs are much more susceptible to malfunction and disease. It’s not just coincidence that people most with poor posture tend to lack energy and suffer from fatigue, experience random aches and pains, as well as suffer from headaches / migraines, allergies, ear infection, sleeping disorders, gastrointestinal issues (such as GERD), asthma, high blood pressure, etc.

As a CBP patient, you will notice not only a dramatic decrease in pain in discomfort, but more importantly a sense of restored health and energy.

Techniques for a Pregnant Woman

Webster Technique

What is the Webster Technique?

A father of two, Dr. Paul is an expert at performing what is known as the Webster Technique, a specific chiropractic technique and diversified adjustment used to help pregnant women prepare for a safe, natural and healthy delivery.

At Onalaska Family Chiropractic and Wellness in Onalaska, WI, Dr. Paul Gasch has ample experience in offering the best in chiropractic care to pregnant women – helping to ensure that mother and child emerge healthy from childbirth.

The technique was developed by Larry Webster, the late founder of the professional organization International Chiropractic Pediatric Association.

Webster created the specific chiropractic analysis and adjustment that bears his name, and which is used today by chiropractors around the world.

The Webster Technique allows chiropractors to create balance in a pregnant woman’s pelvis. This in turn reduces stress to the uterus and supporting ligaments.

Achieving this state of balance in the pelvis allows for the best fetal positioning and increases the likelihood of safe deliveries. This reduces the worry and potential medical crisis often associated abnormal fetal positioning. The Webster Technique is most often used to treat what is known as sacroiliac joint dysfunction.

In regards to pregnant mothers, Dr. Webster reported that when a mother sought care and her baby was in a breech position, the restoration of pelvic neuro-biomechanics with this adjustment also frequently facilitated optimal fetal positioning.

There are cases published in the chiropractic literature that support this theory. More research is needed and is currently underway by the ICPA. The International Chiropractic Pediatric Association (ICPA) strongly recommends that women utilize chiropractic care throughout pregnancy to detect and alleviate sacral imbalance and optimize pelvic neuro-biomechanics in the mother. Because of the particular female adaptations from the increase of hormones, weight gain and postural adaptations, pregnant mothers have a greater chance of sacral subluxation and neuro-biomechanical imbalance than the general population.

Additionally, because of the effect the chiropractic adjustment has on all body functions by reducing nerve system stress, pregnant mothers may have significant benefit by having their spines checked regularly throughout pregnancy, optimizing health benefits for both the mother and baby. This helps establish pelvic balance and increases room the baby needs to properly develop throughout a woman’s pregnancy.

At Onalaska Family Chiropractic and Wellness, we want you to have the happiest, healthiest, pregnancy possible for both mom and your baby.
