There’s a big difference between NORMAL and COMMON. Studies show that over 80% of Americans will suffer from debilitating back pain at some point throughout the year.1 Also, nearly 1 in 4 households includes someone with migraine headaches.1 So are chronic back pain and headaches common? Unfortunately, yes. Are they normal? Absolutely not! These are warning signs that there’s something more significant occurring in your body.
Get to the cause. Just like warning lights in our car is a signal that attention is needed elsewhere or bad things will happen, symptoms like back pain and migraines/headaches are a signal that something in your body is out of balance and attention is needed. If we were to cut the wire to that warning light and remove the “symptom” (light is now off) but didn’t address the cause of the problem, how well would that work? What would eventually happen? There are many ways to (temporarily) remove the symptom using medication, stretching, massage, botox, etc, but ultimately what comes back…the same problem.
If you are like most chiropractic patients, you would never have set foot in our office unless you had some symptom or symptoms which become so unbearable you could no longer ignore them. Then, we examined you and found the cause of your symptoms. In other words, we found the problem, vertebral subluxation (spinal misalignment causing nerve irritation). It’s the nerves that carry vital messages from the brain to the body and relay signals back for proper function. If nerve transmission is interfered with, sickness, pain, and eventually disease sets in. In many cases, we found it had been there for many years.
So why is there such a long time between the onset of the problem and your awareness of it? Quite frankly, your body is so well equipped for keeping itself functioning that it often does not use its energy to warn you of small, developing problems. Unfortunately, most diseases are a process which begins with a small, developing problem which worsens over months or years…and they go undetected until you become aware of damage that has been done.
It is well documented that chiropractic care has great results with problems such as back pain and headaches. In fact, many studies show chiropractic care is far better than medication and physical therapy for long term results.1
Why suffer any longer? This is your chance to get yourself and your family feeling better, moving better, and ona better track for health! We hope to see you soon!
